WEEKLY FAVORITES

December 12, 2017 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

1. According to Instagram and co. the Max Mara Teddy Coat is almost as seen and worn as the iconic Manuela. To give a new life to the (faux) fur attire, the teddy coat is a funnier version that won’t let you unnoticed (affordable here, here and here).

2. Conrad by SOHN. I’d have many songs to share with you, but I had to pick only one today.

3. Red lipstick is a classic and can’t ever miss in a make-up bag. I love NARS products from A to Z and this matte lipstick in the shade Don’t Stop is my current fave.

4. Rupi Kaur is a talented poems writer. Her short confessions are so true, so real, so deep. If you loved her Milk and Honey book, you will find The Sun and her Flowers as touching.

5. Lately I’ve been obsessing over wide leg cream jeans. As the controversial person I am I find that white denim has more impact during cold seasons. I like them paired with a simple black turtleneck and cool boots, or with an evergreen oversized camel coat (here, similar here, affordable here).

MOISTURIZERS FOR ALL SKIN TYPES

December 2, 2017 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

When it starts getting colder my skin is not that happy, since it becomes sensitive and super dry as soon as the temperature goes low. As you can imagine this is when I stock the house with moisturizers the most and try different brands and consistency. The products pictured above are the moisturizers I tried lately and discovered they are perfect for all skin types in different ways and here the reasons why.

The Clinique Moisture Surge is a light and comfortable gel that plumps your skin and makes it radiant. It is perfect for a normal or oily skin type, because its light texture doesn’t deliver the extra moisture boost a dry skin is yelling for.

Another cream product I’ve been using is the Egyptian Magic Cream, which is cruelty free and a hundred percent natural. It is made from olive oil, bees wax, honey, bee pollen and propolis, which is the real magic ingredient with loads of healing properties. Since the heavy consistency of beeswax could cause pimples and outbreaks on more sensitive skins, this product is perfect for very dry skin.

Last but certainly not least, the perfect moisturizer for a combo skin type as I have. Avène is my all time favorite brand for body and face products. I use the Hydrating Emulsion for sensible skin that it’s nor too heavy or too light, so it can assure the optimal result. I use it as a make-up base and before bedtime to keep my face hydrated and bright throughout the chilly days.

HAIRCARE AND VEGAN NAIL POLISHES

November 23, 2017 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

Even though I’m a fanatic of face masks and moisturizers (and will talk about that later on), if I had to choose between haircare and skincare, I’d probably go blindly for haircare. When you decide to keep your hair real long it is important to treat it as gentle and caring as possible. Dyeing after dyeing, bleaching after bleaching, you may notice your hair looks more like a scarecrow’s head and that is the right moment you need to get yourself some oil!

I’ve been using this multifunctional Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse for a couple of months now and it has been a surprising success. This oil nourishes, repairs and gives softness to the hair, it has a light texture, an intense scent and – most importantly and unlike many other similiar products –  it doesn’t make your hair look oily and dirty. I apply it to moisturize the damaged ends or to give my hair a sleek style. All my thumbs (and more if I had) are up and up and up for this magic oil!

In this article I also want to share my thoughts about these vegan and breathable UK-based nail polishes. Growing up I’ve understood that chemicals do matter with what we put on our skin and nails, so I do opt for cruelty free and non toxic products whenever possible. After several reflections I decided to order the two Nailberry polishes you can see in the picture. Since the first application I noticed the light formula and the complete absence of that typical chemical smell other nail polishes have. The formula is made to let water and air pass through, so your nails will never be dry or damaged. I do like this product – even thought I probably chose the pink I like the least among all the beautiful nude shades – because I one hundred per cent respect the ethic. Of course missing all the chemicals the nail polish doesn’t last long, but at least you’re using something safe on your body.
