ON MY COFFEE TABLE

August 28, 2018 by Beatrice Trinci 2 Comments

IMPRESSIONISM BY KARIN GRIMME
Between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, Paris experienced a prosperous cultural and social revolution, that made the ville lumière the undisputed capital of European art. Those painters and artists were impressionists, who — for the first time – left their studios to go down the streets and depict numerous scenes of everyday life en plein air. Taschen, 8,50€

QUELLA SERA DORATA BY PETER CAMERON
Probably Adelphi is, among the others, my favorite publishing house: its covers are visually beautiful and the stories it chooses to tell are always particular. Often the Adelphi writing is slow and long-winded — but it’s not the case for this passion and travel story. The book is about a man who wants to restart new and leaves for South America, to write the biography of one of his favorite writers. But what began as a university commitment, will soon become an exciting youth adventure. Adelphi, 12€

BERLIN LOUIS VUITTON CITY GUIDE BY LOUIS VUITTON
Oh, Berlin! Du bist so wunderschön. I couldn’t leave on a shelf a fashion guide of my favorite city, could I? The LV guide lists a detailed 360-degree view of the best activities, districts, restaurants and shopping to do in the German capital. A must have for travel lovers. LV City Guide, 30€

UNCONDITIONAL MAGAZINE
A women’s magazine, a feminine magazine, full of articles, interviews and wonderful editorials dedicated to strong and independent women. The style is Nordic and because of its esthetic, I easily place it in my personal top 3 best fashion magazines. Unconditional, 18€

PETER LINDBERGH – A DIFFERENT VISION ON FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY BY THIERRY-MAXINE LORIOT
Every time I travel I never miss the chance to visit local bookstores and this Landbergh photography collection was my latest purchase. It is an extraordinary and diversified collection of black and white fashion photos, which makes the peeled pages full of inspiration and vision. Hundreds of pages dedicated to the mesmerizing work of the German photographer, the most known shots for the most prestigious magazines during the golden decades of fashion. So hypnotizing and inspiring. Taschen, 50€

MARRAKECH

May 26, 2018 by Beatrice Trinci 2 Comments

Marrakech is an oasis of undisputed beauty and charm, and has always inspired great artists; perhaps the most famous among them is the timeless French designer Yves Saint Laurent, to whom a famous local Rue has been dedicated, and where the homonymous museum is located. After many years of dressed in rigorous total black women, inspired by the typical Moroccan architecture, here Yves discovered color, how to use it and how to show it on the catwalk.

The city of Marrakech is a limbo between reality and dream, it is clear the difference between the confusing and chaotic city centre and the impeccable, neat and amazing Riads, secret gardens and hidden oasis. Magical places, full of flowers and nature, where color and interior design become the main characters.

Marrakech is many things together. it is a typical city of Morocco, with its Muslim culture and its customs; in fact, you will be woken up at 5 am from the first prayer of the day, that is loudly transmitted from all the speakers around. it is the crowded streets and the gigantic Souk, a traditional Berber market that seems to have no end, a market that sells all kinds of traditional and handmade products and where it is extra easy to get lost. It is an intertwining of hundreds of streets and alleys full of cars, mopeds and wagons with no signs or traffic rules. It is the people who want to help you and take you where you want to go, with the excuse of showing you all the shops that belong to their family: the aunt’s spice shop, the brother and his carpets, the son who sells thousand pairs of babouches. They usually help trying to get your money, so be careful and do it yourself. Just get lost, Marrakech is all about getting lost any second.
In fact, getting lost in Marrakech is perhaps the activity in which I succeeded the most and it seems to be the common link between all tourists. The guides say it, getting lost in its streets is almost obvious, because even Google Maps cannot locate you in the messed up grid of narrow alleys. Of course it is also a place far from the noisy life, where you can take a break for a few hours of silence, peace and relax in the middle of nature and colors, sipping a delicious mint tea in the many Riad, country clubs and gardens the city offers.

*

Marrakech is arriving somewhere to get lost and discover – both the city and yourself. You will obviously experience a different lifestyle, that I’m sure will make you float in an aura of mystery and charm, as you were in an «Arabian Nights» book page.

LISBON DIARY | LOOKS

February 10, 2018 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

When I want to take pictures of my outfits, location scouting is my first priority. A good outfit won’t be valued right if combined with a wrong background and, vice versa, a more simple outfit can become something really cool when the surroundings are eyes- and picture-worthy. Of course sharing interesting pictures become easier while traveling, but unfortunately we cannot live on a fast, nomad lane 365 a year. So with small precautions and good taste, even staying in your hoods will make your shots very hip. Generally talking, we may divide the background types in two groups: either I choose a place that has the same color palette as my outfit (as in the first picture below) or I just go for some color block contrast (this looks better with white, black or denim attires, just to avoid a messy result).

Two days, two looks. The weather was really nice but a little too windy at times, so the first day I wore an ASOS baker boy hat, with and old light blue animalier faux fur from Zara. The flare jeans are from Noisy May.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed I have a serious thing for colorful parisian inspired doors and I enjoy posing with them (like here, in actual Paris). In fact, as I just said, the second day I took advantage of an almost total black outfit to pose with this beautiful red door. Red is my favorite color, so how could I resist not standing in front of it?
The oversized coat is from Paper, the beautiful snake print bag from & Other Stories.
