HAIRCARE AND VEGAN NAIL POLISHES

November 23, 2017 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

Even though I’m a fanatic of face masks and moisturizers (and will talk about that later on), if I had to choose between haircare and skincare, I’d probably go blindly for haircare. When you decide to keep your hair real long it is important to treat it as gentle and caring as possible. Dyeing after dyeing, bleaching after bleaching, you may notice your hair looks more like a scarecrow’s head and that is the right moment you need to get yourself some oil!

I’ve been using this multifunctional Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse for a couple of months now and it has been a surprising success. This oil nourishes, repairs and gives softness to the hair, it has a light texture, an intense scent and – most importantly and unlike many other similiar products –  it doesn’t make your hair look oily and dirty. I apply it to moisturize the damaged ends or to give my hair a sleek style. All my thumbs (and more if I had) are up and up and up for this magic oil!

In this article I also want to share my thoughts about these vegan and breathable UK-based nail polishes. Growing up I’ve understood that chemicals do matter with what we put on our skin and nails, so I do opt for cruelty free and non toxic products whenever possible. After several reflections I decided to order the two Nailberry polishes you can see in the picture. Since the first application I noticed the light formula and the complete absence of that typical chemical smell other nail polishes have. The formula is made to let water and air pass through, so your nails will never be dry or damaged. I do like this product – even thought I probably chose the pink I like the least among all the beautiful nude shades – because I one hundred per cent respect the ethic. Of course missing all the chemicals the nail polish doesn’t last long, but at least you’re using something safe on your body.

BERLIN TUT GUT

November 21, 2017 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

If you go asking people in my life a little information about me, they will immediately tell you that I have this love thing – to read as obsession – with the city of Berlin.

It may sounds obvious to your ears, since the german capital has been both students and aspiring workers favorite destination from all over Europe for the last few years, but this affection of mine has started in early two thousand and nine, back when ninety percent of the people I talked to never went or never even thought of flying to this “sad and grey city”. Shocking.

Much has changed here over the years, at a social and infrastructural level; the city is messier, dirtier, more dangerous and disorganized. It is more crowded and saturated than ever, yet it remains my safe shelter, the place where I head every time I have the chance to and where I feel the happiest. Since the first minute I first landed in the capital airport, I felt like I found a place where to belong and to be my truest self.

Each time I get asked why I love Berlin this much, I answer the same way: it’s just about the feeling, love is not to be explained.

I don’t want to get emotional in here, so – concretely talking – for the big minority of you that still hasn’t had the pleasure or chance to visit the city, or for the ones who just strolled around Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz and Unter den Linden,  I will accompany you in a visual journey to discover the corners and spots the city has to offer and you wouldn’t find in a bookstore guide.

HOUSE OF SMALL WONDER

While looking for a new spot to have breakfast, I was introduced to this little gem by a friend who showed me a picture of the cutest hallway. Since I love both Persian carpets and plants I had to give it a try.

House of Small Wonder first opened in the the summer of 2010 in Brooklyn and soon became a popular place for breakfast, lunch and all day brunch and pastries. Few years later the new branch opened in Berlin and it is now located on the quite Johannisstraße, just off the busy Friedrichstraße. HOSW has a welcoming and warm atmosphere, lots of wood and lots of plants. Its culinary concept follows Japanese influences and flavors, daily soups and matcha teas and lattes are big part of the menu. You will be served greens, organic and local ingredients, homemade bread and pastries freshly baked each day.

Here you will have the sensation of being transported in another continent all of a sudden, you will be sitting in a relaxed greenhouse, sipping your hot oriental tea, right in the heart of chaotic Berlin.

TEA HOUSE IN SCHLOSS CHARLOTTENBURG PARK

I always enjoy taking a long walk in the nature and green city parks is what I’m looking for whenever I travel. Last time I was in Berlin I spent a morning walking in the less central Schloss Charlottenburg Park, under the drizzle and through muddy crossroads decorated with colorful autumnal trees. The view here is suggestive, many locals go jogging and work out in a charming green, red and yellow oasis, where the 17th century Palace stand still.

Walking past the beautiful turquoise Tea House Belvedere in Palace garden was my morning highlight. I’m a fan of Wes Anderson and all of his beautiful and extravagant settings and I felt like I was having my Anderson-moment right in front of this. Magic.

THE JOURNEY

November 20, 2017 by Beatrice Trinci No Comments

After quite a few years I decided to come back sharing my writings and thoughts by keeping a blog. I’ve never been good at presentations, I’m certainly not the kind of person who can play the describe yourself in three words game.

I first started blogging when I was a teenager and MySpace was still a thing. I liked to share my everyday boring routine with anonymous Internet users. Although it may seem the opposite for those who know me, I am and always have been an introvert and during the high school period I felt the need to escape reality and build a world of my own. But I had no mission at the time and I guess that was the reason why I completely lost interest in doing it after a while.

Now that I’m a grown up and don’t seek people’s attention anymore, I can peacefully go back doing what I love the most: writing for people who may feel the way I feel and like the things I like.

As a Libra I appreciate every form of beauty, wether it is art, fashion, music, a good book or a landscape. Everything that it’s beautiful enough to give my soul a breath of fresh air, it is worth writing about.

I want this site to be a place where to share and spread contents, creativity, ideas and inspiration. I want it to be a safe place, where we can all be ourselves and hide for a bit. I want it to be a journey that is going to evolve while we get older.

I hope to welcome you on board this journey of mine.
